Our Story
The Origins of KBDC
The story of Katy Backyard Development Co. is deeply personal.
For much of Brandon Mclain’s life, the first 39 years were a journey marked by struggle, searching, and hard-earned lessons. In many ways, those years reflect what the scriptures describe in the early chapters of Isaiah — a world learning through difficulty, correction, and the realities of a fallen world.

Our Mission
KBDC is being built on the knowing that good work should bring peace and lasting craftsmanship. Everything we do is intended to reflect and restore the wisdom our Father has already placed into the world, through honest work, careful execution, and a commitment to doing things the right way.
The Outlook
Our Belief
We believe this company ultimately belongs to our Father in Heaven, and that we are simply stewards of the work entrusted to us. Because of that, every project we take on is approached with the intention of doing the work the way our Father would intend it to be done — with patience, honesty, and genuine care for the people involved.
Money is not the center of our work. What we desire most is union — meaningful collaboration with the families we serve. For that reason, we do not simply view those we work with as customers. We see them as collaborators, neighbors, and spirit brothers and sisters.
All work is done with a care of love that could only be compared to the level of love from our Father in Heaven.
Giving Back
Our Desire
Our desire is restoration. We seek to restore homes, restore spaces, and in our own small way restore what a fallen world has often worn down — trust, craftsmanship, patience, and care in the work that is done for others.
Through every floor we install, every kitchen we rebuild, every bathroom we restore, and every patio we construct, our aim is simple: to perform the work in a spirit that reflects how our Father would intend His children to serve one another.
At the center of our work is a simple belief: the best work is done when it is done with love for the people it serves.
